Stress, how to be a Godly husband, following the Holy Spirit, and characteristics of a leader are just some of the topics covered in these studies. What's It About and why does it matter? In our pursuit of a New Life in Christ, it is critical to seek others who can help us along that road. The Counseling Ministry of New Life provides an opportunity for believers from all stages of life to partner with mature believers and seek the proper steps along the road of life. From addiction recovery to pre-marital advisement, the Counseling Ministry is an important step to celebrating New Life. How and When Do I Get Involved? To schedule a time to meet with the Counseling Ministry, contact the church office to arrange an appointment. Services offered include marital and pre-marital counseling, crisis intervention, seminars and workshops on issues of addiction, depression/anxiety, eating disorders and more. About the Counselor Pastor Stan Wheeler, M.A. holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Oklahoma Baptist University and Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Regent University. He is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Georgia and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. Pastor Stan was in private practice in counseling for 10 years after earning his Master’s degree, and has been self employed for the last 8 years. He has been a member of New Life for 3 years and is currently pursuing ordination through the Church of God. Nature and Process of Counseling Coming from a decidedly Christian worldview, Pastor Stan counsels utilizing truths as revealed in the Word of God. The Bible is God’s blueprint for healthy and well adjusted living; it is also His guide for eternal life. A healthy relationship with the Living God puts us in proper perspective to live life to its fullest. Utilizing accepted therapy techniques from Christian and secular disciplines Pastor Stan strives to bring people to their desired goal of mental and spiritual health.
